Myth #1. You need to drink 2 liters of water per day

Studies have shown that it’s not necessary to drink 2 liters of water per day. But you need to drink water moderately, in accordance with individual needs and thirst. Abuse of water can harm the body. Excessive amounts of water can cause hyponatremia – a lack of salts in the body. Salts will simply be washed with the liquid. It can lead to cardiovascular disease. So, drink as much water a day as your body requires.

Myth #2. Eating at bedtime is harmful

In fact, not a late dinner hurts your shapes but what foods you eat before bedtime. Proofs that snacks are harmful and lead to overweight don’t exist today. Myth #3. Stress brings troubles

When a person is in a difficult or extreme situation, stress encourages action. For example, a person suddenly learns that he/she has diabetes. Of course, this news prompts him or her to reduce sugar intake and bring the weight back to normal. Such stress will “prolong” life.

Myth #4. The more sport the better

The principle is the same as with water: you need to know the measure in everything. But from the abuse of sports, the consequences can be much worse. That is why, before repeating the feats of sportsmen who squat with a barbell weighing 50 kg, consult a specialist who will identify all possible diseases and threats, calculate an acceptable level of load and give the necessary recommendations. As you get used to it, you can increase the load gradually. 

Myth # 5. An early rise is a sign of a healthy lifestyle

Last year, a group of researchers from the University of Westminster (UK) published a report according to which early awakening leads to chronic stress. The fact is that from about 6 to 8 in the morning, the maximum level of cortisol is produced in the body – the stress hormone. But most importantly, the awakening during this period keeps cortisol levels overestimated throughout the day. Accordingly, if early rises are a way of life for you, then an overdose of cortisol is a common phenomenon. Over time, you will face a decrease in immunity, chronic migraines, and depression.
